Michael D. Litten Awards Scholarship to Trauma Informed Professional Certificate Program

Roswell, GA, – March 16th, 2021 – Michael D. Litten, Founder, Foundation for Premature Infants was honored to award Roma Seat a scholarship to attend the first of kind ground breaking Trauma-informed Professional Certificate Program. The program is a continuous journey of self-discovery and growth moving towards excellence. This as- sessment-based certificate program is grounded by eight attributes that reflect competencies required to become a trauma informed professional.

Roma has been working in the NICU setting for 14 years and has been witness to the lives of the tiniest babies and resilient families. As a NICU nurse and lactation consultant, she is privileged to be a part of their journey and awed by the strength and courage these babies and families have to persevere. Her own baby started out in the NICU and is now a strong and healthy 3-year-old.

Michael D. Litten, commented he was “beyond thrilled, because Roma’s passion combine with the certificate pro- gram fits perfectly with our mission and core belief, which is as Dr. Seuss’s iconic character, Horton, said so suc- cinctly and eloquently: ‘a person’s a person, no matter how small.’”

Roma said, “I want to be a trauma informed professional so I can better serve these beautiful babies and families in my care, and continue to provide the support and encouragement to the amazing medical team that works day in and day out with these families.”
