
Roswell, GA, September 10th, 2019. Michael D. Litten, Founder of the Foundation for Premature Infants is delighted to provide three $500 scholarships to the 3rd Annual Congress for Trauma-informed Neuroprotective Care of Hospitalized Infants, Families and the Clinicians (also known as Science and Soul 2020). The conference is taking place in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal, February 28 to 29, 2020, with a pre-congress workshop on Thursday, February 27th on The Journey to Certification in Trauma-informed Neonatal Care.
The founder of the conference and President and Global Learning Officer of Caring Essentials Collaborative, Mary Coughlin, said "We are extremely grateful to the generosity of The Foundation for Premature Infants who gifted the scholarships." The scholarship recipients include Denise Nickelson, DPT, Baptist Memorial Hospital NICU in Memphis, Tennessee, Mary Stanford, PhD(c), MS, CCC-SLP, CNT, Senior Manager of the Health Alliance team at Evolve BioSystems in Davis, CA, and Wendy Hause, RN, Clinical Nurse III, Wellspan Health York Hospital.
"I'm excited FPI has raised enough money through the generosity of folks passionate about those without a voice, premature infants, to be able to make this donation," said Michael D. Litten. The Foundation's core belief is, as Horton said so succinctly and eloquently: "a person's a person, no matter how small."
