Mary Coughlin Presents Donation to MGH NICU

Boston, MA, – Feburary 26th, 2019 – Mary Coughlin, Foundation for Premature Infants board member, presented a $2,000 donation to the Mass General Hospital NICU in honor of Alex and Andrew Fernald.

Founder, Michael D. Litten said, “We were proud to present the check in honor of the twins who, ten years ago, were born at 27 weeks and spent a very long time with the wicked awesome MGH NICU staff.”

The Foundation for Premature Infants donated the money to be used for continuing education for the brilliant clinicians who work tirelessly to take care of the most fragile vulnerable little people. Mary Coughlin had the epiphany that Dr. Seuss’s icon character, Horton, when he said so succinctly and eloquently, “a person’s a person, no matter how small” could, just as well, have been referencing premature infants.
